Downloads & checksums

All product install packages that AgentNet publishes for general use are public free downloads from ' + escapeHtml(downloadsPublicBase(env)) + '. No account is required.

AgentOS X: Server / Desktop ISO files. AgentNet IM desktop: Windows / macOS installers on this CDN. IM mobile: App Store · Google Play · AppGallery only (no raw mobile packages here). Verify SHA-256 for file downloads before install.

For ISO image versions and product history, see the marketing site changelog (Chinese: 更新日志). Public CDN image swaps are recorded with date and SHA-256.

For already installed systems, day-to-day upgrades do not mean “download a new ISO and reinstall” — see Version patches (system update) and software installs.

AgentOS X operator guide (ISO)

Public operator guide for AgentOS X Desktop and Server (headless + Web): download/verify, install, system updates (version patch), software installs (market), LLM first-config, desktop UI, ops, and troubleshooting. Matches current product implementation. Architecture internals are not published here.

Channels: empty disk / new machine → ISO install; installed systems rolling updates → signed version patch; apps and optional capabilities → package market (AGPK). See §9 Version patches (system update) and software installs.

3. Golden path

  1. Download the matching ISO and verify SHA-256 (table above).
  2. Boot path: USB stick or on-disk boot tool (§4 / §5 — USB is optional).
  3. GRUB → Install → target disk → reboot; remove install media.
  4. Bring your own LLM (§6): agentx llm presets or Settings → agentx llm test.
  5. After install, version and capability updates use system update (version patch) — not “burn a new ISO and reinstall”.

Desktop → personal PC / workstation. Server → servers / headless / cloud VMs. Security tools (ClamAV / Lynis / fail2ban / host-probe) are not preinstalled — install from the AGPK market when needed.

4. Desktop (personal PC)

4.1 Boot from disk (Windows / Linux · no extra USB)

Download agentos-x-desktop-x.1.0.iso to the machine’s hard disk, then use a local boot tool to start that ISO (common: Ventoy — put the ISO on a Ventoy volume and pick it in the boot menu; or GRUB loopback on Linux). The installer wizard is the same as USB: install onto the target disk (do not wipe the volume that only holds the ISO).

  • Windows: download ISO → Ventoy (or equivalent) → reboot → select agentos-x-desktop-x.1.0.iso → Install.
  • Linux: same idea (Ventoy / GRUB loopback / distro ISO boot tools).

4.2 USB stick (optional)

macOS USB · bash
diskutil list
diskutil unmountDisk /dev/diskN
# Confirm the device - wrong disk destroys data
sudo dd if=agentos-x-desktop-x.1.0.iso of=/dev/rdiskN bs=4m status=progress
diskutil eject /dev/diskN
Linux USB · bash
sudo dd if=agentos-x-desktop-x.1.0.iso of=/dev/sdX bs=4M status=progress && sync

Windows USB: Rufus or balenaEtcher with agentos-x-desktop-x.1.0.iso.

  1. Boot from USB or the disk boot tool (F12 / F2 / Esc; disable Secure Boot if needed; prefer UEFI).
  2. GRUB → Install AgentOS X Desktop.
  3. Language, disk, user/password; ~5–10 minutes; reboot; remove media.
  4. COSMIC: AgentX applet + chat sidebar.

5. Server

File agentos-x-server-x.1.0.iso. Boot via USB, on-disk boot tool, or virtual CD in a hypervisor/IPMI. GRUB → Install AgentOS X Server. Disk, network (DHCP/static), root password → headless reboot.

This is a bare-metal/VM installer ISO, not a cloud “system disk image”. Typical public-cloud consoles cannot install this ISO as a system volume; use your own hardware, industrial PCs, or environments that attach ISO/virtual media.

Server access · bash
# SSH
ssh root@<server-ip>

# Web console (agentx-api binds 127.0.0.1:18086 by default — do not expose raw)

# open http://localhost:18086

6. First configuration · LLM (bring your own · current impl)

Chat and self-drive require your own model provider. Platform signup is optional. The engine accepts three protocols only: openai_chat · openai_responses · anthropic (passthrough — no vendor SDK hardcoding).

6.1 Where config lives

ItemCurrent implementation
Config rootAGENTX_HOME (CLI default ~/.agentx; override with env)
LLM config$AGENTX_HOME/llm.json (mode 0600; secrets never logged)
Optional routing$AGENTX_HOME/llm_routing.json (multi-profile)
OAuth tokensSeparate 0600 files (e.g. llm_oauth_xai.json)
Write pathagentx llm configure (prefer --preset); Desktop Settings shares the same sidecar semantics
Health checkagentx llm test (or check)
BoundaryLLM credentials ≠ AGIN/HMAC ≠ human IM tickets — separate files, never mix

ISO trees often also have /opt/agentx/ for runtime. Model keys live under AGENTX_HOME sidecars (no-master-key), not a vault.

6.2 Dual auth tracks

6.6 Desktop / Server entry points

  • Desktop: top-bar AgentX → chat sheet → Settings; or terminal + CLI above.
  • Server: Web console over SSH tunnel (same fields); or run agentx llm over SSH.
curl probe · bash
curl -sS "$BASE_URL/chat/completions" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $API_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"model":"'"$MODEL"'","messages":[{"role":"user","content":"ping"}]}'

Optional platform register (version patch / seats — independent of LLM config):

Register · bash
agentx register --endpoint https://www.aiagentnet.cloud

7. Web console (Server)

Chat (left) + projection review (right). Enter sends; Shift+Enter newline. Checkpoints: Approve / Reject / Modify. Prefer SSH tunnel or TLS reverse proxy — do not expose 18086 raw.

8. Desktop UI (COSMIC)

After install, Desktop boots a COSMIC session with a Dock for files, apps, package market, AgentNet IM, browser, terminal, and settings. Day-to-day human↔agent collab prefers AgentNet IM; system-body upgrades use Settings → System Update (apply a version patch). Screenshots below are real Desktop sessions (same assets as marketing).

AgentOS X desktop cold start with Dock
Cold start: AgentOS X Desktop wallpaper · Dock (files / apps / market / IM / browser / terminal / settings).

System settings

Workspace overview: browser, settings, terminal, and IM can run together.

Without LLM config, chat/planning is unavailable or degraded — treat agentx llm test as the gate. Shot files live in monorepo assets/docs/agentos-x/ — never upload host-only orphans without updating HTML and git.

9. Version patches (system update) and software installs

From 2026-07-18, day-to-day upgrades on installed systems are separate from first install and from app installs. Marketing notes: changelog.

Current flagship baseline: first-install Desktop ISO x.1.0, Server ISO x.1.0; installed-system version patches start at 0.0.1 (see CDN for current latest). Prior public 1.3.x version patches are removed from the CDN and are no longer the upgrade-maintenance baseline. See the marketing site changelog. From Desktop x.1.0, Settings / language-model configured state / System Update entry detection are more reliable; industrial automation devices attach via AGPK modules (see AGPK · industrial edge).

9.1 Three channels

ScenarioPathNotes
Empty disk / first installISO (this page)Install delivery; not for version rolls after install
Installed system version and capability updatesSigned version patchDefault and primary path; routine upgrades no longer mean “download a new ISO and reinstall”
Apps and optional capabilitiesPackage market (AGPK)Does not substitute for version patches; see AGPK docs
Disaster recovery / intentional full reinstallISO may be used againExceptional ops, not day-to-day upgrades

System services and system UI ship on the same version-patch channel. Version-patch releases and ISO bake stay aligned in the same delivery window so new installs and upgraded machines stay on the same product generation.

9.2 How to apply a version patch on an installed system

SurfaceHow
DesktopSettings (or AgentX-related UI) → System Update (applies version patches): check / apply
Server / CLIRun the upgrade command in a terminal (below); check then apply the version patch
Version patch CLI · bash
# Installed systems: apply signed version patch (see agentx help on your image)
agentx upgrade

# Some builds also expose split subcommands (CLI name still "ota"; public product name = version patch):
# agentx ota check
# agentx ota update
  • Version patches ship from the public CDN with signature verification; unsafe downgrades are rejected.
  • The product version-patch path is not Ubuntu Software Updater / app store / raw apt upgrade.
  • After a successful update, settings and version should match the release; if they stay mismatched, see §11 and contact support.

9.3 Version patch vs software install

11. Troubleshooting

  • Won't boot installer / Secure Boot: disable Secure Boot; UEFI mode; pick the UEFI-prefixed boot entry.
  • Wrong disk: install wipes the target; do not erase the Ventoy/ISO-only volume.
  • Stuck in firstboot: TTY login; journalctl -b -u firstboot -u agentx-daemon; fix network then configure LLM.
  • Agent silent: agentx llm status / test; ensure llm.json exists (0600); curl upstream; verify egress and key quota.
  • OAuth fails: check client_id / endpoint envs; switch to API-key track if token_use fails.
  • Web console down: systemctl status agentx-api; ss -tlnp | grep 18086; re-open SSH tunnel.
  • COSMIC won't start: Ctrl+Alt+F2; journalctl -u seatd -b; try LIBGL_ALWAYS_SOFTWARE=1.
  • Checksum mismatch: re-download ISO + .sha256; trust the live CDN digest.
  • Version patch fails / no update: verify egress; retry agentx upgrade; do not use Ubuntu update UI as product path; keep logs and contact support.
  • Think you must reinstall ISO to upgrade: installed systems use version patches for day-to-day upgrades (§9); ISO again only for disaster recovery or intentional full reinstall.
